Inspired by Transcendentalism, Emergence, and Existentialism, my poetry projects my spiritual-rationalist philosophy. My poems explore time, the intrinsic essence of things in contrast to their appearance, inspiration, perfection, fate, soulmates, dreams, and pursuit of freedom. They are coined by concepts of eternity, transience, harmony in opposites, alternate dimensions, and the unpredictability of fate. The gray zone between the polarity of extremes and our constant struggle between dreams/hopes/expectations versus reality/realism shape my work.

Well, what is there to know about me?
Writing has been a passion pretty much all my life. But there was a period in my life where I didn’t write. It was one of the things I sacrificed for a variety of reasons – from personal reasons to putting in late hours for my career and working multiple jobs. I gave up and sacrificed a lot of things in the past. At age 33 I realized that things had to change, and “33″ (my first book) symbolizes my newfound strength of doing MY thing. It’s a hand-selected collection of 33 poems reflecting more than a decade of writing. 33 also represents my age when I started to “live”.

Aside from writing, I found my way back to my roots and origin. Well, I’m German, so you’d think that I “like” German, but that wasn’t necessarily the case for many years… I have regained a true appreciation for my native language and a sense of “belonging” I was missing in my teens & tweens…. For a long time, I felt more comfortable writing in English – but now, for the first time in more than a decade, German doesn’t sound awkward to me, and many of my poems are now in German.
